Overview

The General Events module allows schools to take electronically take attendance by reading the barcode in the student’s ID. Create and remotely deploy attendance kiosks for every type of event. No longer it will be necessary to gather and manually make entries to your Aeries system.

The APX General Events module, allows school administrators to define whether events are for specific students groups (i.e. by grade, by classroom, by subject, etc) as well as to define open events in which all students attending the event register their attendance. Additionally, the module will also have e-commerce capabilities, which will allow students to receive entrance event tickets directly to their smartphone.

Attendance staff at most middle schools and high schools, spend large amounts of time chasing after the resolution of attendance discrepancies at their schools. A discrepancy occurs, when a student’s attendance does not match the attendance to one period with the rest in his or her schedule. Because discrepancies affect the accuracy of the attendance reports submitted for ADA, it is important that schools ensure to implement a process that corrects these errors; which are caused when students arrive late to class and/or other errors during the attendance taking process.

It is not possible to expect teachers to evaluate attendance for past periods for all students. Depending on size, most middle schools and high schools can experience several hundred discrepancies per day. Unless teacher can act rapidly to make the necessary corrections, subsequent corrections can be less and less accurate the more time goes by. For this reason, teachers benefit from the ability of access all discrepancies related to their classes from a centralized application.

Attendance Admin View

Unless daily reports are printed each day, attendance personnel cannot be aware of the number of discrepancies generated on a daily basis. Discrepancy Solver + APX Office

Increase the power of the Discrepancy Solver by running it concurrently with the APX Office module. This hybrid approach allows attendance personnel the ability to determine if a true absence occurred or if the absence is related to a period discrepancy. Running the Discrepancy Solver in tandem with the APX Office , can inform attendance personnel if period discrepancy absences should be excluded from the absence clearing process until approved by a teacher. This optional feature ensures that attendance personnel do not process absences for students that may have deliberately skipped a class, while attending others during the same day.
